Death Knight Saga

Chad February 19th, 2009

Morning readers! Some really eventful runs the past couple days and we’ll start with a “Timed” Caverns of Time – Strartholme. If you don’t know about the new Strat in CoT, there is a Timed Event in the instance and a special boss that ONLY stays in the instance for “20” minutes!

If you can get through the 3 bosses and all of the pulls and down the boss within 20 mins you get to roll on the Epic Flyer! I’ve done about 6-7 runs and we’ve gotten to him a couple times with 1 minute left and he will walk through the portal even if you are fighting him!

Well a couple days ago we flew through the instance and got to him with 3 mins left on the timer and took him down with a min left! “Thanks Skezz” Grats Kimish on the mount!

Last night I ran a 25-man Vault Pug and it was intense! The boss has ~10 million HP and also drops your Deadly Gladiator Set (S5) Gear! I was really hoping for the gear because it would be a huge improvement from my 78 Savage Blues. We’ll the fight was still the same as normal mode “Tank & Spank” and it did take a bit to drop the big boy. After he dropped, I went to loot him to check out what dropped and OMG Deadly Gladiator Chest dropped for Death Knights!!!

My buddy Chase was running it with me and was “Chad your chest dropped! Dude I hope you win that shit!”

The raid leader started to have everyone roll on the loot that dropped and normal sequences where you post the item in raid chat and ask people to /roll. So he went through the other drops and then finally came down to the chest!

I was the first to /roll and got: 61 (not bad but not a perfect 100)

I was happy it wasn’t 1 and I stood a chance to win it. Well the next roll came in @ 32 oh boy only 3 more DKs left to roll!

Next Roll 30

Ok I lucked out, I might actually win this!

Next Roll 6!

Oh man, I actually might win the chest piece! At this point my heart is beating so hard I’m about to have a heart attack and I’m holding my breath!

Last Roll 42!!!

Chase is screaming on vent all excited that I just won the chest drop! And I was speechless and so excited as this is such a huge improvement. Just awesome and then what I was afraid would happen did!

The Raid leader is a DK and is the one that rolled the 6! He gave himself the chest and I was like WTF and everyone in the raid said! “That’s bull shit and started to bitch the guy out.” He logged right after ninja the chest piece.

Our Guild Leader was pissed and we tracked down his Guild Leader and send him an In-Game mail and let him know about his guild mates actions. We’ll 15 mins later, we get a message and they’ve kicked the guy from their guild.

So Ajanitor on Archimonde – alliance is the worlds biggest ASS and you are now posted on my blog bitch and I’ll make your life a nightmare!

So everyone that reads my blog, create a level 1 toon on archimonde-alliance and message this guy when he’s online. How much of an ass he is for stealing loot! :D

Death Knight End Game Part 2

Chad February 17th, 2009

I had a nice 3 day weekend and got a lot of game time in and was able to get Hateful Ring, Bracers, Belt & Neck pieces. I also did a ton of heroics with the new guild and friends and got a nice pair of boots and bought my sigil. I respected twice and I hit 2600 DPS with my new Unholy/Blood spec. I’m pretty impressed with the DPS I’m putting, considering my gear is still a mainly the level 78 Savage Set with a few epics.

Tonight we are going to be running a couple of raids and I almost have enough badges for my T7 chest. I’ve also started collecting the Nobles Deck and should have the full set by the next darkmoon festival in 2 weeks. That should really had a big boost to my DPS. :D

Death Knight End Game

Chad February 12th, 2009

Alright about another week has pasted and I’ve been gaming it up and having a blast. I made some new friends with some random guys that wanted to do some world PvP. They all have recently transferred over to my server and have started up a new guild. Most of them are decent gear and run heroics on a daily basis.

So we all (1 Ret Pali, 1 Rogue, 1 Feral Druid, 1 DK & Me) ran over to South Shore and owned up some horde at the Mill then ran to Undercity and took the blimps Org. We all bum rushed the horde dueling each other out in front of the city and spent the next hour rezing and ganking horde.

Later in the week, I meet up with the guys again and we ran OS 10 and had a ton of fun. I OT for the guild and their GL (Gnome Warrior Tank) was impressed by my DPS. :D I was running in frost presences and did ~1900 DPS and #2 in the raid by 30DPS from 1st.

I’m respecing myself for a better OT/DPS spec and I’m actually going to join their guild tonight. A great bunch of people and even though some of them are young (14/15) they are mature and a blast to play with. Oh and that’s crappy Paladin, I dumped him to start my own 2’s & 3’s team and I’ll keep you all up to date.

Death Knight Leveling Completed!

Chad February 9th, 2009

So on Friday night I did hit 80 within an hour of logging in and completed just over 4 days played. 55-80 + Leveled Blacksmithing & Engineering to 440+ in just over 4 days played. I could have cut I think 12-24 hours out of leveling if I would have stopped PvPing and just focused on leveling.

Friday night after I hit 80, I ran over to SW and started to run BG’s. I’ve farmed up over 40k Honor over Friday Night and Saturday. Didn’t get to play much Sunday only a couple hours @ night, but Death Knights are a blast in BGs. I also found a random Paladin to run some 2’s with. He sucks so bad but it’s all good as I’m just testing out my own playing style arena builds.

One really funny note is we went up against a Holy Paladin / Hunter team and my partner was killed within 30-45 seconds into the match. I then held my own for over 15 minutes trying to kill the hunter and paladin. I could get the hunter down to a sliver of HP but the paladin would bop him or get a crt heal. I’m sure they where more frustrated then I was. But I made a mistake and didn’t keep up my self healing and lost the match. If 99.99% sure that I could have soloed them as they where horrible, if I didn’t screw up and fall behind on self heals.

Death Knight Cont… Part 5

Chad February 6th, 2009

Well last night I was a questing machine! I fly over to Grizzly Hills and started on the zone. When I started I was 78.5 and had only completed 1 quest. Well about 3 hours later I had completed 72 quests and 79.5!

Most of the quests are super easy, just killing a few mobs and picking stuff up. “Spoiler” If you haven’t done Grizzle Hills before it’s got a pretty cool theme as you take on these werewolf’s. It all starts when you save this dude from a jail and then the 2 of you ride out on this horse, trying to escape the werewolf’s. Just keep spamming thunderclap and speed boost and you’ll make it just fine.

But all in all I’ve really enjoyed the quest bunching blizzard has done with Northland so far. Tonight I’ll clear out Grizzly Hills, hit 80 and from there PvP or continue questing. My goal is to complete the Loremaster Achievement and so that’s a ton more questing as I still have to do all of classic!

Death Knight Cont… Part 4

Chad February 5th, 2009

Day 4 /played is hit and I’m still level 78 and last night I got a little bit of game time in and I completed Dragonblight Questing Achievement! I also hit the 1000 quests and the Veteran of the Wrathgate achievements. Also once you turn in the last quest for “Veteran of the Wrathgate” you get a great video.

So that’s pretty much it for the night nothing to exciting but still some fun. Off to the next zone!

Death Knight Cont… Part 3

Chad February 4th, 2009

Sorry about not posting for the past few days I caught a cold but the good news is it gave me more time to play!

The past few days I’ve made a few new friends on the server. The warrior & I now chat on vent and help each other when needed or run instances together. One of his RL friends just transferred over and so he’s now joining us in the fun.

I’ve been questing and have a blast with the new achievements system, just clearing out zones and getting the achievements. Since our last chat, I’ve cleared out most of Outlands and headed over to Northland. I’ve cleared Borean Tundra & Howling Fjord and gained the achievements for both zones, plus the D.E.H.T.A achievement. I was level 77 by the time I cleared both of the zones and I’ve soloed every quest boss in those zones! That includes bosses with 100k+ HP! I love Death Knights.

During the leveling spree I also got a chance to do both of the new instances “Utgrade Keep” & “The Nexus” with my Warrior & Lock friend. I tanked for both instance even though I’m not tank geared but my HP was more then enough. We did UTG when I was level 74 and I had 15K HP at the time and my self healing is ridiculous with 4K Death Strike heals.

A little later on when I was level 75 we did “The Nexus” and I tanked that also. We picked up 2 guys and they weren’t sure if I could tank. But we told them don’t worry about it and I tanked it like a champ and was sporting 19k HP with all of the buffs. My DPS was running 1100+ in both UTG & Nexus and I was about double everyone else.

Funny thing was after we finished the run my warrior friend needed some splinters from the mobs in Nexus, so I ran in and soloed the trash till we finished off his quest. We laughed when we where getting 3-4k XP per mob. I later run into the instance and did a little soloing myself pulling 8K+ per mob. You could make a killing in XP just doing the trash but they are not easy soloing and I don’t recommend it.

When I hit level 77, I ran straight to Dalaran and got my cold weather flying skill and started to clear Dragonblight. While I was at level 77, I’ve soled the following quest bosses:

High Shaman Bloodpaw (76k HP but has 4 adds, tough guy with the adds)
Grom’thar the Thunderbringer (123k HP)
Alystros the Verdant Keeper (118k HP)
Kreug Oathbreaker (129k HP – Was a little hard. He hits for 4k+ also have to make sure you clear the area. You don’t want any adds on him.)
Onslaught Commander Iustus (82k HP)
High General Abbendis (96k HP)

Now when I was 72 and out in Shadowmoon I did solo the boss: Cyrukh the Firelord (369k HP) but that quest you have a few NPCs that help. So even though it is a Group 5 quest boss, the NPCs tanked him most of the time and helped DPS him down. So any boss that has NPCs that help, I don’t count even though they are still Group Quest bosses. But he has been the hardest fight so far, just because of his DPS when I did pull aggro.

Last night I did hit 78 and now sporting a whole new Savage Saronite Set with enchants and kits. I’m now running with 21K HP and over 23k when I switch to frost presence. So I’m excited to see how many more bosses I can solo with the new gear. I’ll try and keep you all posted on the bosses I down. :D
