/Rolled Death Knight & Loving it!
Chad January 28th, 2009
So I’m a big wow fan and multi-box! If you’ve never heard of multi-boxing or dual boxing, it’s when you play more the 1 account at a time. I play 5 accounts at once and it tons of fun! But I have over 30 toons and way too many accounts, so I’m selling them off and just keeping my Paladin.
I love my Pali and can always level up new toons, instance leveling with my pali in a few days. So if you are into leveling toons always keep a level 70+ Pali on hand for instance grinding. Super fast leveling!
Now I decided to try out the new Death Knight class because they do what I love and that’s DPS + Self Heal! So far to me it’s like having a warrior with a priest in tow healing. There is zero downtime and I eat through mobs in a few hits.
Now I’ve never played a DK but the starting zone quests are super easy to follow with quest helper mod, but if you get suck like I did on that stupid flying eye quest. Just hop over to wowhead and search the quests name. It’s a great wow hot spot for any quest, items, etc… info.
55-58 was only a few hours and then I ran into outlands and started the zones I know all to well. Now at first the attack rotation took a little figuring out but once I got the feel for it, all I can says is “WOW”.
Now since I got so many toons, wow gold is not an issue for me. So I hit level 62 and then spent a day leveling my Blacksmithing to 400+ and Engineering to 420+ and started to upgrade my gear to Fel Iron Plate armor and 62 Epic goggles, I also made (2) of the Sonic Trinkets for 162 STA and 400+ AP and then used the Blacksmithing Sockets to socket my gloves and bracers.
Then using the new WOTLK Gems, I was able to use my meta socket @ 62! I had over 9k HP and laughed when people would try to gank me, even at one point, I had 3 = level guys team up on me and I was able to take them. (Using cool downs & Pot) That’s when I knew this class is for me!
I’m currently level 72 and only about 2 days played so far and tonight, I’m going to be leveling my Blacksmithing to 420+ getting the belt socket and getting my 72 Epic goggles. I’ve tried many different builds up to this point and it seems that a mix Unholy/Blood is best. If you are into doing everything solo, then this so far seems to be a much stronger class then a Pali.
Last night was proof in my belief that I’m going to be able to solo much more with a DK then a pali. Last night, I took down the level 70 Elite Dragon Quest Boss that flys over Shadowmoon on that small island. I don’t remember the name of the quest, but he had 120K HP and is a 5 man Group Quest Boss.
I was only level 71 @ the time and didn’t have mark of blood yet, but using Rune Tap, a good death strike rotation and cool downs, I was able to take him down on my first attempt. Considering, the last time, I fought him I was 5 boxing and had (4) Ele Shamans and (1) Pali tank. The fight was a tad bit longer but was just about as easy. The damage and self healing is very impressive with the DK and I can’t want to hit 80!
